Spring/Summer Event Update

Warm weather means fun in the sun – check out a few places you may have seen us in the community:

HBHM 2022

Circle of Care and Hudson Partnership hosted their 13^th annual Healthy Bodies Healthy Minds event, on May 21^st, 2022, at Lincoln Park, Jersey City.
An annual tradition that continues to grow and expands, HBHM is an opportunity for youth and families from both counties to come together, enjoy some fun activities and learn about resources in their community.  This year the event had over 300 attendees, and even more smiles than ever!

COC at the Paterson Healing Collective Healing Fest

On June 4^th, in observance of Wear Orange Against Gun Violence, COC attended the Healing Fest.  PHC, the county’s first Hospital Based Violence Intervention Program continues to do great work in combating gun violence and bringing hope to the residents of Paterson.

Touch a Truck and Mental Health Awareness

Circle of Care was invited to join the Paterson Community Police in their annual Autism Awareness Touch-a-Truck event on April 30^th. 
On May 14^th, we participated in their Mental Health Awareness Event, at International High School in Paterson. A day of  music, food, and informational workshops on topics ranging from Hip-Hop and Substance Use to Healthy Living and Healing from Trauma was attended by children and adults of all ages.

CIT Training

Circle of Care presented at the Crisis Intervention Training Youth Block.  In partnership with Youth Service Commission, the Mental Health Association of Passaic County and St. Joseph’s Hospital, we had the opportunity to speak to over 70 first responders and police officers who were being trained on how to respond to psychiatric emergencies.
