2021-2022 Community Resource Development Funds Awarded

Circle of Care awarded Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children and Reimagining Justice/ Paterson Healing Collective with the 2021-2022 Community Resource Development Funds on Thursday, September 24th.
This one-time funding was made available through DCF and the New Jersey Children’s System of Care, as a means to build upon and expand services and programs for youth and families in the county, in the areas of behavioral health, mental health, substance use and developmental disabilities. This year’s awardees stood out among 16 other strong proposals from community-based organizations, and will look to focus on the areas of prevention and early intervention, both with young children and adolescents respectively.

Oasis’ proposed program, “Moving 2ward Success” will deliver a trauma-informed curriculum to the 100 plus students in their after-school program, and will aim to provide the children, ages 6-12, with tools to foster their resilience, such as social skills, self-awareness, emotional regulation.

Reimagining Justice, currently the recipient of a VOCA grant that has developed Passaic County’s first Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, will focus its efforts on Transformative Mentoring and Safe Passage. This project will seek to provide mentoring and resilience groups for youth in the areas of Paterson most impacted by community violence.
